SkillsFuture Singapore issued marketing guidelines as part of the Training Providers' Terms and Conditions in January to prevent training providers from using gimmicks such as lucky draws and freebies to promote their programmes, or using misleading marketing techniques to promote their courses as "free" or "paid for by the Government" (Rein in unscrupulous course providers, by Mr Joe Teo Kok Seah; Oct 5).

We take a serious view of any individual or organisation that abuses the SkillsFuture Credit scheme and will not hesitate to act against those who contravene our guidelines and terms on the use of SkillsFuture Credit.

This year, SkillsFuture Singapore issued 11 warning letters to training providers for breaching SkillsFuture Credit's marketing guidelines and suspended one for repeated breaches.
