If you’re trying to decide on the perf album for the holidays, look no further than Songs for the Philippines, a new album full of hits that has proceeds going to the Philippine Red Cross. Alicia Keys, one of the talents in the star-studded album, spread the message about it yesterday.

The album contains 39 songs from all different artists. The songs aren’t specifically about the Philippines or Typhoon Haiyan — they’re just a great group of songs you gotta listen to, and the money goes to a good cause. In addition to Alicia’s “New Day,” the album includes “Best Song Ever” from One Direction, “The Love Club” from Lorde, “I Was Here” from Beyoncé, “Unconditionally” from Katy Perry and “I Would” from Justin Bieber. Phew!

And it’s not just stuff from our generation. Your parents might be interested to know the album also has stuff from The Beatles, Bob Dylan and U2. Singers with all different styles of music — and songs that have come out in all different years — have come together for this because they know how much help the Philippines needs. The album costs just $9.99, and it’s time to join Alicia in spreading the word.

A number of celebs have been Tweeting about ways to help the Philippines, including aiding orgs like UNICEF, Mercy Corps and even Music for Relief. There are many ways you can get involved to help, and this is def a creative and musical way to lend a hand.
